Our whole plot is based on a drug bust conducted by undercover cops, so I decided to do research on what the traits an undercover cop has. This is because I want my scenes to be as realistic as they can be and exhibit absolute verisimilitude. With this research I found out that undercover cops are very quiet people who dress in every day clothes and don’t carry anything that relates to them being a cop. They also don’t carry a gun or engage with the police at all, as it states they “divorce themselves from that persona completely.” They might also have a completely established criminal history and fake identity in the police database. Any use of narcotics, which we are alluding to in our script, can actually compromise the entire role, along with selling them, so it has to be approved by the police department. This means that our character has to be reluctant to eat candy and it has to be shown in the plot. The cop also has to make friends easily and get people to trust them.
