When working on my final product I did a lot of color research because I wanted there to be obvious color theory used in the film. So, the color I decided to use was Blue, specifically a darker blue because, according to the basics of color theory, it represents calmness and responsibility. The way I planned on incorporating this is by making the side character in my movie, Monosi, wear a dark blue shirt or a dark blue article of clothing and the reason he’s going to be the one wearing the color blue is that he’s the one keeping my main character Miguel sane and calm. Miguel strongly relies on Monosi in order to stay sane throughout the quarantine, although Monosi is just a figure in his head. I’m hoping that by using that color of clothes for Monosi or possibly a dark blue filter whenever Monosi is presented the audience will notice by the end of the film that the entire plot is about a guy fighting with his own brain to keep himself calm and sane.
In contrast, my main character Miguel is going to be wearing yellow because yellow represents confusion and as a society we associate yellow with insanity. The way I presented this was by my main character wearing a yellow shirt throughout the film while Monosi wears the blue shirt to show the contrast.
