The main question I would ask to myself while writing this script is, “How can I shoot this without any movement happening in the camera.” This was more for character actions and directions. I also wanted to keep the settings very close by with each other since it was only going to be me filming myself and I couldn’t go far to shoot scenes. Along with this there was the issue of constructing a two person dialogue with only one actor. This meant that I had to come up with a single character that could be represented by two different people, which is how I came up with the imaginary friend idea for the film.
The day writing the script came, it was very weird and difficult for me because I never considered myself a good writer, which is why our group member, Hector, typically was in charge of scripts. Now that I was writing it, it felt like my first time writing a script so it was very awkward. Luckily, I had a general idea in my head of what I wanted the screenplay to be, so that propelled the dialogue a lot.
The last thing I had to worry about was the time limit, which I feel is too short because it feels like the introduction takes up half of it. When editing, I did eventually go a few seconds over time, but it wasn’t anything that was very tedious or time constraining. To compensate for my worry of going above the time limit, I tried to develop the plot as short as I could while also saying the most with the least words.
